Right now, I wake up every single day feeling excited and energised by the work I do. However, being 100% comfortable with the career changes I’ve made in my life has not always been easy. I’m definitely one of those people who ruminates a lot. I think back to the various career decisions I’ve made, and what could have been if I had chosen a different path. I think about how things could have turned out differently if I had simply stuck things out during the previous chapters in my career.

I have to constantly remind myself that what could have been isn’t necessarily what would have been.

Regret and second-guessing is something I do more often than I care to admit. My own psychology seems to heavily affect my day-to-day level of life satisfaction. Here are the five beliefs I’ve had to drop that’s allowed me to feel at peace with some of my more unconventional career decisions.
