When it comes to social media, you’ll want to build your brand. That way, people know who you are, what you stand for, and understand your company on a social media level. But, what ways work the most?  Read on to find out!

1. Update Your Current Social Media

1-Social MediaIf you haven’t already, make sure to update your social media. If you have old and dead accounts, delete them, especially if they’re not relevant to what you’re doing.  If you have current networks and accounts, make sure that all of the information added is accurate and complete, since it will allow you to increase the traffic to the networks you’d like to show your work on, and also, if you have any “questionable” content from the past that you don’t want your professional image to potentially take on, this is a good way to ensure that this gets eliminated. Remember, the social climate changes, so make sure everything reflects you in a positive light.

2. Have Branding Goals

2-GoalsIf you haven’t already, you need to locate the goal that you want to have. This is a set and personal factor that you need to figure out for yourself. Is it a new business, or is it one that’s been around but you want to either increase the sales or create a more competitive atmosphere for your product.  Once you know this, it will allow you to develop a better and more reliable social media plan.  It allows for you to build your profile so that you can have lots of people by your side, allowing you to create a reputable place that others will enjoy partaking in.

3. Establish Expertise

3-ExpertiseWhat are you an expert in?  What can you write content about that follows will respond to and engage with? Can you create lots of content on that subject?? A good rule of thumb is, the more engaging and unique the content that you create is the more followers you’ll have, and usually, the more reputable you’ll look.  You should, once you have established the expertise of the brand, is also consider a brand statement. This is essentially what your brand focuses on, and what they have at the forefront. it’s a huge part of social media presence, and something you should learn about.

4. Use the Apps!

4-AppsIf you run multiple social media accounts, it probably gets annoying posting the same content to like five different profiles, and it can be quite time-consuming, since it does involve multiple steps. But, if you haven’t already optimized yourself for this, use the social media apps that make maintaining your social media even easier. Hootsuite, Sprout, and Buffer are all great apps that allow you to cross-post your content across multiple networks, and you can even schedule the posts so you don’t have to manually put it in. it works for all major social networks, so if you’re using Twitter, Facebook, or whatever, this is the way to go!

5. Share Away

5-shareEngagement is the name of the game, so it is important to consider trying to get people interested. But, let’s be honest overposting creates both annoyance, and fatigue. If you want to keep communication open, you should try to post content at a relative pace that works for you, maybe 3-4 times a week. You don’t want to overshare, but you don’t want your social media to be some once-a-week thing that doesn’t really do much.  You should share content that people will like, and you should create interesting content people will want to look at.

6. Create Engaging Content

6-EngagingReposting content is good, but it’s not the only thing you should do. You should use content that you’ve created yourself. The content that you should consider is stuff that showcases industry expertise, and the trends that are there.  You shouldn’t be afraid to talk about achievements and personal topics that are important, but as always keep it on a professional level so that you’re not being too open with that.  If you do want to talk about employees, make sure that you have social media guidelines in place.  You should always make sure not to breach those.

When it comes to social media, you should always work towards improving your brand. You can do so with these helpful tips, and in turn, create the best experience that you can for your customers.
